Ever After Ever After is supposed to be the true story of Cinderella. It takes place in France in the 17th century. Danielle’s mother has died. Her father remarries a demanding and harsh baroness and then dies, too. The baroness makes Danielle do all the work. One day, Danielle meets a prince named Henry. After some adventures, we know they will get married and live happily ever after. “Danielle is my favorite character in the film because she never backed down from what she believed in. She treated everyone with respect.” “I liked it when Danielle stood up to her stepsister and stepmother. I learned to stand up to people that are mean to others and to treat others kindly.” “Prince Henry learned that all people are the same no matter what they do. Danielle learned that it is better to tell the truth.” “I think families can learn not to bend the truth because it can cause misunderstandings.” “My favorite character is Prince Henry because he is courageous (just like me.) I didn’t like the romance parts.” To do before the movie: Watch the Disney version of the Cinderella story: Cinderella Look up Leonardo DaVinci on the Internet. What was he famous for? To do after the movie: Compare Cinderella with Ever After. How were the story and the characters the same or different? Play charades and act out the characters or scenes from the movies. Talk about why the prince kept running away (idea by Ryan H., age 11). Reviewed by students at St. Francis Xavier School in St. Joseph, MO. Kids main
