Blessed Jeanne Jugan
Blessed Jeanne was born during the French Revolution. As a young woman she worked in a hospital helping the sick. Jeanne was a woman of prayer who offered her life to Jesus. With a friend she lived among the poor, sharing what she had. Once, she even gave up her bed to a sick woman. Soon, many poor, sick, and elderly people were coming to Jeanne for help. Other women also joined her in serving these people in need. This is how her community, the Little Sisters of the Poor, began. To provide for the sick who came to their small house, the Sisters would go out and ask for help. To this day, the Little Sisters live a life of simplicity and dedication to people who are in need. My Pledge: Dear Jesus, help me to see those around me who are in need. Show me how I can share your love with them. Your Turn: This month, share something that’s special to you with someone
else. Home Copyright © 1999-2007, Daughters of St. Paul. All Rights Reserved.
